| Opening Day |

First of all, I have to wish Pops a Happy 62nd Birthday! Secondly, and very fitting since Dad is a huge baseball fan, it is Opening Day in the majors today. Currently, even the Expos have a shot at making the playoffs. A re-birth of sorts for every new team as they begin their journey though 162 games to see who will compete for the World Series of baseball. Now, being a Red Sox fan, it wasn't until 2004 that our Opening Day hopes finally turned into a reality after 86 years of pain. And this year we start the year with one of the best pitching rotations in baseball, a great defence and the amazing offence brought forth by the one-and-only Big Papi and Man-nee! Oh my son and I are hopeful!
So, how does this pertain to business and DANIMA? I wasn't sure until I started writing...but I guess it is quite similar. Here at DANIMA we have gone through some changes over the past few months and today it is opening day for us too. We have a new programmer starting, a great new contract programmer, as well as a recent addition to the team who has worked well through his "Spring Training" and will become our starter on Opening Day! With a great new "team" in place we feel we have a legitimate shot for that elusive "World Series" ring! Or maybe we can call it the "Web-ring".
Whatever it is and as corny as this analogy sounds, it seems as though we have really begun building a solid team her at DANIMA. And as with all good baseball teams, some players/staff come in for a season to help get the job done and then move on...others stay with the team for several seasons and even end up working in the front office after their careers have ended! Either way, management knows that their needs to be a good balance between talent and dedication. The result will be a winning team that will produce more fans/clients and keep those current fans/clients coming back to the ballpark. I think we are definitely getting there and will be providing our clients with better service and better products for the next several "seasons". |

Whew, I've worked that analogy to death...all to get in the fact that today is opening day at Fenway Park (or as the natives say "Pawk") as my beloved Red Sox take on the Royals of Kansas City. Mr. Schilling on the mound and a host of familiar faces with a smattering of new faces as we begin the quest of baseball supremecy. We look forward to the season ahead. Go Sox!!
Happy B-Day Pops! |
