Wow, I can't believe that the last time I posted was the day after the Super Bore...I mean Super Bowl...no, actually it was a bore! Either way, the DANIMA Team has been very busy for the last 4 or 5 weeks. Busy would be a bit of an understatement, crazy is more like it! But a good "crazy".
Since we last talked DANIMA has launched a brand new product - our Hotel Reservations System. The Niagara Falls Hilton now has a full reservation system for their 7 properties that allows visitors to book their rooms on-line quickly and easily. But that is one small component, the other side of the reservations is the tracking and reporting. This new system allows The Hilton to track where all of their bookings came from. What property? What search engine? What search words or phrases? Was it an organic listing or a paid listing? Was it from a newspaper ad or from a radio spot? All of this allows the owners to assess where to best apply their marketing dollars. Easy to use and very effective! The best part about this system is that it is extremely portable, allowing DANIMA to provide any hotel outside of the Niagara Region with the system with very little implementation time!
As well, DANIMA just recently launched the first of possibly four Ontario School Board related sites. The Ontario Association of School Board Officials launched their brand new site - www.oasbo.org. This site has a public view, as well as a members area that provides their members with committee information, forms, forums, and more. The content manager allows various levels of administration access. Now, each committee can login and edit their own pages using the eZ Editor quickly and easily. With on-line registration and a new mailing system, OASBO's new site hopefully will make administrators Suzanne and Lil's life much, much easier from now on.
Though, early in the process, DANIMA is currently working with the Kawarthas Pine Ridge Public School Board to redesign and develop their site. As well, we are working with Guelph and Kingston to hopefully assist them with building a new system that offers their school boards an edge in today's e-world!
If that wasn't enough another product that DANIMA will be fully launching at the end of the month is our Hockey Stats System. We are currently in the process of implementing this into Canada's largest ball hockey league's web site, as well as designing their sister-leagues site. This 700 team league will have full web access to scheduling, league stats, teams stats, player stats and more. Both present and past! Again, this product will be portable and will be part of DANIMA's new product line!
And before I forget, last week the DANIMA Team provided all of the multi-media and audio/visula for the 12th Annual Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The show went amazing. Top notch. With Nick on the music and back-up computer, Leigh-Ann on the camera switcher, and Dave working the Flash Presentation the entire show went off without one hitch! The night had an Oscar-esque feel with the Fanfare music and the great camera work and multi-media. Great night after 3 months of building the presentation and 2 full days of set-up and rehearsals. I hope that other event went off just as well.
With some big projects finally coming to an end, DANIMA can now focus on some of the work that has fallen a bit behind - Hospitalite Canada's new site, Port Colborrne Experience's new site, Tangerine Studio, The Sunrise Rotary of Niagara, and other projects like TheNiagaraDirectory.com and UltimateCaddy.com. |

I was saying to a friend the other day that for years we've talked about the light at the end of the tunnel and for the first time Nick and I both know we are not far from the end of that tunnel. 8 years ago we were at the beginning of the tunnel and now, though I won't say we are out of the tunnel, we are nearing the end. Let's put it this way, if we were to try making a call on our Blackberry's from this point in the tunnel we WOULD get reception. Feels good, indeed.
Kudos to Leigh-Ann, Nick, Warren, Curtiss and Inchul for some great work under some tough circumstances and deadlines.
And if that's not enough Mr. Springsteen is releasing a new album in six weeks followed by a small tour (did I hear road trip?). And of course, there's my wife's awesome 40th birthday present - tickets to Fenway Pawk!!! Yes, that's Pawk!! Another road trip! Beantown, here we come.
