Well, congrats to the Mazzone family on their 5th Super Bowl victory as their beloved Steelers beat the Seattle Seahawks in arguably one of the worst exhibitions of football I have seen. And let us not forget, I am the exact age of the Super Bowl (yes, in less than a week I to will be the big XL - and some of my pants can prove it, lately) and have seen almost all of them (I definitely missed #1, though Ma was pregnant with me at the time and probably watched it with Dad). So, other than Steeler fans, many of us have the Super Bowl Blues. You watch football all year to see the biggest game in sports and 9 times out of 10 it is a dud. This year was no exception. Chris Berman deemed it, before the game, to be a game for the ages. I'm sure he wishes he could take back those words. The referees were horrendous and both teams played lousy. But give the Seahawks their due. If the refs weren't so terrible (and seemingly going for Pittsburgh) this may have been a good game. Funny, the refs actually had a hand in ruining this game and the only game that was exciting throughout the entire NFL playoffs was only exciting thanks to the terrible calls made by these same referees.
So another year comes and goes and we are left with a game that leaves no memories. No Lynn Swan catch, no "1 yard short", no "wide right". Oh my, I've got the Super Bowl Blues again (maybe Buddy Guy could record something with that title). |

Well folks, enjoy your work week. I had to vent. Steeler fans enjoy the fact that now you are tied with my Cowboys and the Niners as the only teams to win 5 Super Bowls. A wins a win, my Dad always said.
