The Holiday Spirit...Not!

They say that it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch, and I can vouch for this. You see, my family and I went to Oshawa this past weekend. And after being gone for 36 hours away, we arrived home to find that some delinquent decided to take my son's favorite Christmas Reindeer (you know, the white ones with lights) from our front lawn. Normally, I'd be angry but this time I was just disappointed. My son would wave to the reindeer every time we left the house. He would pet it and wave good night to it when we'd come in at night. In fact, he talked about it in his 17-month-old way all weekend. He wanted to see "el-gay" (for some reason he thinks it's an elephant and that's his pronunciation). So, yeah...I'm disappointed. It's the holidays. A time for giving and sharing. Instead, we have some thug on our street who decides that it's a time for taking...from a 17 month old. If the person needed the $50 to purchase one...I would have given it to him. But to disappoint my son by stealing it...that's just mean.

As I said in another blog...they can steal all of our Christmas lights...but they can't steal the spirit of Christmas inside. It's just a shame that you can't even decorate your house without someone spoiling it.
