| Review of Marah's LOD Show |
|
| August 11, 2009 |

As you know, DANIMA organizes the Light Of Day Niagara Benefit Concert Series for Parkinson's Victims that consists of 4 summer shows and culminates on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Greg Frewin Theatre with a huge line-up of amazing artists! Well last week we had the 2nd Summer show...it was Marah from Philly and they were amazing. Here is a review from www.marah-usa.com. These guys were great. Thanks again Dave, Christine, Johnny and Marty (Evan loves the sticks).

"First, the Niagara Falls show was a blast, danimaldave you did a great job and it was cool to see a guy who was clearly really, really enthused about the band when you were introducing them and talking about the light of day stuff afterwards. It was too bad the sound wasn't that great but I think for people who know all the songs anyway it was okay, we got the gist and the energy was there, I really enjoyed it. I went to the Toronto show the next night and the sound was way better so that was lucky for me haha.
But yeah sincerely, thanks for bringing the band to Canada. I don't keep up with music on the internet a ton and I missed the last time they played, I actually went one day to see if they had any dates scheduled and they had played less than a week before, i was gutted. If you bring them back in November or whatever you said, I'm sure I'll be coming down again.
Anyway as far as an actual review of the show, yeah it was very good. I got to town a few hours early with the intention of gambling it up at the casino a bit beforehand, so I parked at the venue a couple of hours before the show. I went to see if my ticket was waiting for me, and as I walked up to the bar I was like hey, I think that's the singer from Marah outside smoking. I wasn't 100% sure though, I mean I have all the albums but I have a bad memory with faces and whatever. So I feel dumb in retrospect not saying hi to him, but also figured not everyone having a smoke and relaxing wants to be interrupted, so I just went and played some cards for a couple of hours then headed back.
The band was selling shirts and CDs for $10 and posters for $5 so I got a poster and 2 shirts, nice deal. Weirdest part, a couple of people were wearing one of the shirts I got with the angels of destruction cover on the front, but when I got home I saw mine was printed backwards with the cover on the back. And all the shirts for sale at the Toronto show seemed to be the same.
Anyhow yeah I mean the band was awesome, when they came out and played the Rocky theme (I couldn't remember what song that actually was till the next day when I hummed it to someone), that just killed, so hot. Then bam bam bam, they played a lot of awesome songs of course, yeah. Afterwards I got my poster signed which is weird cause I've never actually gotten an autograph before, or cared about them, but it just seemed like the thing to do since they were saying they were gonna hang out and sign stuff, etc. I talked to D.B. briefly after he signed it, he seems like a good guy, pretty chill."
